Welcome aboard the USS Yamato!

"The claim 'I was only following orders' has been used to justify too many tradegies in our history. Starfleet does not want officers who will blindly follow orders without analysing the situation" Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

"Yamato". A name which has always been associated with the Legendary IJS Yamato of the Japanese Navy. Originally named after the Yamato Province in Japan, the 20th Century Battleship was one of the largest, heavily armed vessels ever constructed for war on Earth.

Today however, the name Yamato has a very different meaning. Newly refitted with the latest and most advanced technology, the Federation Starship Yamato is a formidable opponent in any situation. The new refits of the Sovereign class included the installation of additional science and specialist laboratories, and extra equipment for long range, deep space missions. As well as new advanced tactical systems and computer enhancements. The Yamato is one of Starfleet's most advanced Sovereign Class Attack Cruisers.

The ship is commanded by Commodore Kaede Kayano, a decorated officer of the fleet who is a veteran of the Dominion War and commander of Task Force 23, in the 7th Fleet, commonly known as Theta Fleet.

The Yamato is assigned to wherever Starfleet needs it to go. One day it could find itself patrolling the Romulan Neutral Zone, investigating why monitoring posts have fallen silent and the next it may find itself on the other edge of the quadrant dealing with easy to anger Cardassians and sly Ferengi who are out to make a large profit in their latest enterprise.

Welcome to the adventures of the Federation Starship Yamato. May you find us an interesting crew, where nothing is ever truly "normal". However you can be guaranteed a fun and interesting Star Trek experience whilst serving on the ship that carries the legendary name Yamato.

» 2017 Recap & Captains Message

Posted on Sun Dec 24th, 2017 @ 4:12am by Captain Kaede Kayano in Sim Announcement

To the crew of the USS Yamato!

Captains Message

First of all I want to thank everyone for their combined efforts and activity this last year aboard the Yamato. We have seen plenty of wonderful posts and stories and everyone's characters have evolved in such awesome ways! I am proud to report that this year we have pulled off an impressive 366 posts as of Christmas Eve! Thats a FANTASTIC post count for the year!

The amount of posts that we have pulled off is a tribute to your hard work and your passion for this ship. 2017 has been a bad year for me personally, I have to admit that in my real life things haven't gone too well. However the Yamato has remained strong and you are all a good team and work together in some amazing ways. I have enjoyed every single post that has come through to my inbox, and I have laughed and cried at some of the content!

I want to finally just say one last thankyou before we recap the last year. Also, finally I want to wish you all a huge Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Spend time with loved ones, family and friends. Stay safe and enjoy your entry into 2018. I hope that next year will bring us as much fun and good storytelling as much as 2017 did! Now lets go and recap this last fantastic year!

Mission Recaps

Together this last year we've pulled off two fantastic missions!

We have dealt with rogue Romulan's who had abducted our Captain in "Run Romulan Run!". I am proud how this mission turned out and it brought people together in such a way that made me proud to call myself your captain. We saw lots of interesting posts in tracking down the Romulan ship in Federation Space and how much the crew relied on its Command team. Thankfully you all pulled through and made some interesting relationships as well. We also got to see a whole new side to the Romulans thanks to our Executive Officer!

And then we began to cause some trouble on Deep Space Nine, because who doesn't love a good stab at the Cardassian Station everyy now and again? Seriously though, we've seen a lot happen in "New Starfleet" and we're not even done with it yet! We've had a Bajoran Assassin run around trying to kill Captain Kayano, the Dominion show up and offer trade routes, as well as serious cat and mouse games on the Station Itself. We've also had a wedding between two of our own crew members. Congratulations to the Logans, who got married in the Holodeck (Only after Captain Kayano told them she wasn't going to marry them in her ready room!). Its been a fantastic mission so far and should be wrapping up soon, hopefully by the end of January we'll be moving well into the next one!

Awards Recap 2017!

This is the part which makes me extra proud. I looked back at all the awards that we had won since the start of 2017, and I can proudly say that we have won quite a few! Across the whole year we have won a total of 14 ship awards, everything from Gold Sim of the Month, to Post of the Month to Ship odf the Quarter! Congratulations to everyone involved in winning these awards and making the headlines in fleet news! Departmental Service Awards

Command & Flight Control

I hereby award Lieutenant Commander Kablam the Departmental Distinction Award of the Command and Flight Control Department for the year of 2017. Congratulations Kablam.

Sciences

I hereby award Counselor Miach Tinsha the Departmental Distinction Award of Medical for the year of 2017. As our Chief Counselor you have written some beautiful posts and are always here to lend an ear or to put a smile on people's faces. Keep it up, you deserve it.

Services

I hereby award Lieutenant Commander Cade Logan the Departmental Distinction Award of Service for the year of 2017. I hereby award Major John Mellen the Departmental Distinction Award of Marines for the year of 2017. John came aboard with us recently, but took no time in getting stuck in and brought a whole new subplot to the mission which was good and managed to engage a lot of people. Bringing up activity and doing well. Congratulations John.
